We provide 11 Plus preparation in Medway and Maidstone for English, Maths, Verbal, Non-Verbal, and Spatial Reasoning, giving students the strong academic foundation and the skills to maximise their chances of passing 11 Plus and to perform well at their chosen grammar school.
There are two 11 Plus tests in Kent: The Kent Test (for all district councils except Medway) and The Medway Test.
When to start?
We advise that students start 11 Plus preparation in Year 4 to improve their existing levels. Year 5 is dedicated to developing a solid knowledge of the 11 Plus subjects, exam techniques and practice to help students feel and perform at their best on the test day. The test is taken at the beginning of Year 6.
11 Plus classes at Tuition Academy
Students attend weekly 2-hour lessons, taught in small ability-based groups of up to 10 by a specialist teacher and an experienced teaching assistant, with one-to-one support available when needed. Students enjoy learning and cope well with our personalised, attentive, and structured approach.
Weekly classes – 50 weeks a year, with 33 dedicated to learning and 17 to revision and practice
Booster lessons – run in addition to weekly classes and are designed to get students up to speed in difficult areas, such as creative writing or verbal reasoning
Revision courses – we run intensive summer revision courses designed to reinforce challenging topics
Mock exams – to ensure our students are well prepared and confident when sitting their examination
What does it take to pass?
We recognise that each student’s potential to pass the test is determined by their individual ability and the consistency of their work in class and at home. Our experience proves that every student has a great chance of passing the 11 Plus test by regularly attending our preparation classes and completing all set homework.
